Director Story
Marcelino Méduse, 27 ans, est un artiste réunionnais possédant plusieurs flèches à son arc. Il découvre le théâtre au Lycée Antoine Roussin où il fait ses classes avant de rejoindre le Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de La Réunion. Il est sélectionné pour participer au projet « Avoir 20 ans en 2015 » parmi 50 jeunes francophones (projet imaginé par Wajdi Mouawad et soutenu par les TEAT Départementaux de La Réunion).
En 2015, à la fin de son cursus au Conservatoire il devient artiste associé au Centre Dramatique National de l’Océan Indien sous la direction de Lolita Monga.
En 2017, il fonde la Compagnie Aberash dont il sera l’auteur et le metteur en scène De Toute Mon Existence (2017) et de GABRIEL|LE (2019). En 2018, il s’essaie au court-métrage avec le film Démavouz mon kor qui sera diffusé sur France Ô. Son deuxième court-métrage Flèr Sinkèr, est produit par Pixel Dealer en 2021, dans le cadre de l’appel à projet régional : La Réunion, ce qui nous rassemble. L’envie de se former à l’écriture sérielle et audiovisuelle le pousse à quitter son île pour suivre la formation délivrée par Nouvelles Écritures jusqu’en juin 2023. Il a également écrit pour la Compagnie Aberash le texte Fénwar (2022) et dans le cadre du projet En Actes de la Compagnie Kisa Mi Lé : La Triste Tragédie de la Famille Angama. En 2024, de retour sur son île, il présente son nouveau court-métrage Ou Mazine Pa produit par White Star avec le soutien de la Région Réunion, de l’AVR du CNC, de Cinékour et Talents en Courts.
Marcelino Méduse is a 27-year-old artist from Reunion Island who has more than one string to his bow. He first discovered the art of drama at Antoine Roussin High School before joining Reunion Island’s Regional Conservatory. During his studies, he was selected to participate in “Being 20 years old in 2015” project among 50 young French-speaking people (project led by Wajdi Mouawad and supported by the Departmental TEATs of La Réunion). In 2015, when he finished his studies at the Conservatory, he became an associate artist at the National Drama Center of the Indian Ocean under the direction of Lolita Monga.
In 2017, he founded the Aberash Company. He became the author and director of two plays: De Tout Mon Existence (2017) and GABRIEL|LE (2019). He also wrote the text Fénwar (2022). In 2018, he launched his career in movies with short films. He directed the movie Démavouz mon kor which was broadcasted on France Ô. His second short film Flèr Sinkèr, was produced by Pixel Dealer in 2021, as part of the regional call for projects: Reunion, what brings us together. The desire to train in serial and audiovisual writing encouraged him to leave his island to attend the training course provided by Nouvelles Ecritures in Paris until June 2023. The same year he took part in the writing project “En Actes” by the Kisa Mi Lé Company where he wrote the following play: The Sad Tragedy of the Angama Family.
In 2024, back on his island, he presents his new short film Ou Mazine Pa produced by Lucie Portehaut, White Star, with the support of La Region Réunion, the AVR of the CNC, Cinékour and Talents en Courts.
