Director Story

Sofia Bost a étudié les sciences de la communication à l’université Nova de Lisbonne avant de s’installer à Londres pour se consacrer au cinéma. En 2015, elle a obtenu un master en réalisation cinématographique à la London Film School.

Party Day (2019), son premier court métrage, a été présenté en avant-première à la Semaine de la critique de Cannes avant d’être projeté dans plus de 30 festivals internationaux, tels que le Festival du film de New York, le Festival international du film de Leeds, le Festival international du film d’Odense, le Festival international du film d’Helsinki, entre autres ; il a remporté le Prix du jury professionnel au Festival Films Femmes Méditerranée en France. Il est sorti en salles au Portugal, au Royaume-Uni, en Allemagne, en Islande, en Uruguay, au Brésil et en Argentine, et a été distribué en DVD et en VOD au niveau national.

Son nouveau court métrage, Stone Beach, une coproduction franco-portugaise tournée en France, vient de terminer sa post-production.

I Don’t Know Where I’m Going, le premier long métrage de Sofia, est actuellement en cours de développement (Torino Script Lab et Next Step 2022).
