Sylvain Pioutaz s’attache depuis ses débuts à filmer l’intime et les silences. En 2017, il réalise Rodéo, court métrage primé et sélectionné dans plusieurs festivals, qui explore la relation entre un père et son fils. Avec L’Automne, il poursuit sa recherche d’un cinéma sensible et épuré. Ce nouveau film mêle fantastique et quotidien autour d’un couple de retraités en rupture. Il y affirme une écriture visuelle fondée sur la suggestion et l’étrangeté poétique.

Sylvain Pioutaz has focused from the start on capturing intimacy and silence. In 2017, he directed Rodéo, an award-winning short film selected at several festivals, exploring the relationship between a father and his son. With L’Automne, he continues his pursuit of a subtle and refined cinema. This new film blends the fantastic with everyday life through the story of an estranged retired couple. He affirms a visual language rooted in suggestion and poetic strangeness.
