Au début des années 90, Leonor, une nounou portugaise, accompagne Vera, une fillette de 8 ans, en France, où celle-ci passe ses vacances avec son père français, dont elle est éloignée, et sa nouvelle famille. Le lien profond qui unit Leonor et Vera, ainsi que la barrière linguistique qui les isole, créent une dynamique complexe. Alors que les tensions montent, Leonor est confrontée à des rappels de sa position subordonnée au sein du foyer.

In the early ’90s, Portuguese nanny Leonor accompanies 8-year-old Vera to France, where Vera spends her vacation with her estranged French father and his new family. The deep bond between Leonor and Vera, along with the language barrier isolating them, creates a complex dynamic. As tensions mount, Leonor faces reminders of her subordinate position within the household.
