Director Story
Antoine Parouty est né en 1977 à Brive. En 1995, il co-écrit son premier court métrage Chaud devant tourné en 16mm. Après un Bac Cinéma Audio-Visuel, il intègre en 1998 l’école de cinéma l’Insas à Bruxelles, en section image. En 1998, il tourne au Mali « Une cicatrice derrière la tête », un essai documentaire. La même année il réalise un portrait documentaire Back from Cambrai produit par l’AJC à Bruxelles.
En 2004, il tourne La route des hêtres un documentaire montré dans de nombreux festivals et diffusé sur Arte. En 2010, il réalise Des rêves pour l’hiver, un moyen métrage de fiction, primé dans plusieurs festivals (Pantin, Belfort, Brive) et diffusé sur Arte. Ses films d’essence documentaire, tentent d’interroger la mémoire, de raconter les liens intimes que tissent les êtres entre eux et avec les lieux.
Antoine Parouty vit à Paris où il poursuit en parallèle son parcours de directeur de la photographie en fiction et en documentaire pour de nombreux réalisateurs ou artistes, dont Patric Chiha, Hélier Cisterne, Sébastien Betbeder, Ruth Berkermann, Sophie Letourneur, Christelle Lheureux, Antoine Barraud, Sébastien Lifshitz, Valérie Mrejen, Mehdi Ben Attia…
Antoine Parouty was born in 1977 in Brive. In 1995, he co-wrote his first short film “Chaud Devant” turned in 16mm. After an Audio-Visual Cinema Baccalauréat, he joined the Insas cinema school in Brussels in 1998, in the image section. In 1998, he shot in Mali “A scar behind the head”, a documentary essay. The same year he produced a documentary portrait “Back from Cambrai” produced by the AJC in Brussels.
In 2004, he directed “The Old Road” a documentary shown in many festivals and broadcast on Arte. In 2010, he directed “Des rêves pour l’hiver”, a medium-length fiction film, awarded in several festivals (Pantin, Belfort, Brive) and broadcast on Arte. His documentary films interrogates memory and tells the ties between people and places.
Antoine Parouty lives in Paris where he pursues his career as director of photography in fiction and documentary for many directors or artists, including Patric Chiha, Hélier Cisterne, Sébastien Betbeder, Ruth Berkermann, Sophie Letourneur, Christelle Lheureux, Antoine Barraud , Sébastien Lifshitz, Valérie Mrejen, Mehdi Ben Attia…
