Director Story
Catherine Cosme is an artistic director and scenographer for theater and cinema.
Graduated in scenography at La Cambre, she began on the film “Didine” by Vincent Dietschy.
Cinema and theater projects then fed on each other, such as the films “In their lifetime” by Geraldine Doignon, “The Lobster’s Cry” by Nicolas Guiot, “Le Monde nous appartient” by Stephane Streker, the series “The Break”, by Mathieu Donck, and the pieces” The Mayenburgh Trilogy “with Adele Hanel, the staging of Thierry Debroux, and many others.
Catherine Cosme then worked as artistic director on “Memory Lane” by Mickael Hers, “Scouting for Zebra” by Benoît Mariage and “Noces” by Stéphane Streker.
Despite the cinema projects, Catherine Cosme’s heart also remains anchored in the theater, with regular collaborations with the Parisian theater collectives “L’argument”, led by Maia Sandoz, the “DRAO” collective known for their approach to texts contemporaries, and the humor of the collective “La banquette en Skai”.
All these encounters and the time spent observing the direction of the actor and the directing gave rise to the desire in her to keep on writing and directing, a desire that materializes with a first short film entitled ” Black Forest ”in co-production with Eve Martin.
Fortified by this first experience, she is releasing her second short film “Lovers” in 2015. A film on the theme of desire.
