Director Story
Fabien Ara a étudié au lycée Vauvenargues à Aix en Provence puis au studio Pygmalion, à Paris.
Il débute à la télévision avec le court métrage Coloc-Scopie, réalisé par Sébastien Douaud, pour la collection Avoir 20 ans en 2008 ARTE, avant d’être repéré par Laurent Bouhnik en 2009, qui le prendra pour son long métrage Q (film, 2011), dans le rôle d’Alex.
Il continue avec la série Strictement platonique, réalisé par Stephan Kopecky, où il tient le rôle de JB Sandoval, aux cotés notamment de Baptiste Lecaplain, et Audrey Giacomini.
En 2010, il joue dans Une pure affaire d’Alexandre Coffre avec François Damiens et Pascale Arbillot puis en 2011, il est Fukushiman dans la série du même nom, réalisé par Rémy Dish pour Canal+.
En 2012, il joue le beau-frère de Gilles Lellouche dans 100% cachemire de Valérie Lemercier. Parallèlement au théâtre il reçoit un prix d’interprétation au Festival de théâtre 2012 de Bougival pour son interprétation d’Alan Strang dans Equus (théâtre) de Peter Shaffer, mise en scène par la compagnie Grains de Scènes.
En 2013, il enchaîne deux rôles principaux au cinéma, celui de Yoda, un handicapé moteur dans Le Complexe du Homard de Benoit Danguin, puis celui d’Yvon, dans Super Z de Julien de Volte et Arnaud Tabarly.
Il est le rôle principal du long métrage Philippin 4.08 tourné aux Philippines en 2014, réalisé par Pedring Lopez.
Fabien Ara studied at the Vauvenargues high school in Aix en Provence then at the Pygmalion studio in Paris.
He start cinema with the short film Coloc-Scopie on TV, directed by Sébastien Douaud, for the collection “Being 20 years” in 2008 on Arte, before being spotted by Laurent Bouhnik in 2009, who took him for his feature film Q (film, 2011), as Alex.
He continues with the show Strictly Platonic, directed by Stephan Kopecky, where he plays the role of JB Sandoval, alongside Baptiste Lecaplain, and Audrey Giacomini.
In 2010, he played in “Une pure affaire” by Alexandre Coffre with François Damiens and Pascale Arbillot then in 2011, he was Fukushiman in the series of the same name, directed by Rémy Dish for Canal +.
In 2012, he played Gilles Lellouche’s brother-in-law in “100% cashmere” by Valérie Lemercier. In parallel of theater, he received an interpretation award at the Bougival Theater Festival 2012 for his interpretation of Alan Strang in Equus (theater) by Peter Shaffer, staged by the company Grains de Scènes.
In 2013, he went on to two main roles in the cinema, Yoda, a motor disabled in “Le Complexe du Homard” by Benoit Danguin, then Yvon, in Super Z by Julien de Volte and Arnaud Tabarly.
He is the main role of the filipino “4.0”8 feature film shot in the Philippines in 2014, directed by Pedring Lopez.
