Koya Kamura

Director Story

Après 3 ans de faculté de cinéma, Koya KAMURA étudie à Tokyo à l’université de Keio pour renouer avec ses racines. A son retour en France, Koya entre dans le groupe VIACOM (MTV, GameOne) en 2007 puis rejoint ensuite en 2008 la Walt Disney Company / Disney+. En parallèle de Disney, Koya réalise des publicités pour des marques comme Redbull, Adidas ou L’oreal.
Mais son premier court métrage Homesick en 2019 (Sélection officielle César 2021) pousse Koya du côté de la fiction. Après 15 ans, il quitte la Walt Disney Company pour réaliser son 1er long-métrage Hiver à Sokcho avec Roschdy Zem et Bella Kim (sortie 2024) et developpe en ce moment son second film, Evaporés, un polar noir au cœur de Fukushima.

After 3 years at film school, Koya KAMURA went on to study at Keio University in Tokyo to reconnect with his roots. On his return to France, Koya joined the VIACOM group (MTV, GameOne) in 2007, before moving to the Walt Disney Company / Disney+ in 2008. Alongside Disney, Koya has directed commercials for brands such as Redbull, Adidas and L’Oréal.

But his first short film Homesick in 2019 (Official Selection César 2021) pushed Koya towards fiction. After 15 years, he left the Walt Disney Company to direct his 1st feature film Hiver à Sokcho with Roschdy Zem and Bella Kim (released in 2024) and is currently developing his second film, Evaporés, a noir thriller set in the heart of Fukushima.
