Director Story

Matthieu Salmon is both a director and an editor. In 2006, he directs his first short film, The lake – the beach that follows a group of teenagers and their dog for an afternoon by the lake. A year later, he shoots Weekend in the country, inspired by a teenage memory. A Drift, in 2012, is his third short film about work and rupture. In 2015, he directed a fourth short film entitled Les mâles ne vivent pas, which tells the story of a cow farmer who witnessed the motorcycle accident and the death of a young boy. Flexible, completed in 2018 evokes the workplace and precarious employment.

These films have each been presented in various festivals in France and abroad and notably broadcasted on France Télévisions for 2 of them and screened at the Cinémathèque Française during a retrospective in 2017.

Invisibles, shot in 2022 is his last short film.
