Director Story
Noha Choukrallah est une réalisatrice et une comédienne belge. En 2011, après des études d’interprétation dramatique au Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles, elle étudie la recherche création et le média expérimental à l’Université du Québec à Montréal. En 2015, son film de fin d’études “Night Light” voyage en festivals et son mémoire “Night Light : La théâtralité adaptée à l’écran” est publié par les presses académiques francophones.
Depuis, elle s’est produite au théâtre (Théâtre des Galeries, Riches Claires, Compagnie du Simorgh…) et elle a joué dans plusieurs courts métrages.
Son dernier court métrage “Amine” produit par Ambiances Asbl… et Wendigo Films remporte plusieurs prix dont le prix relais du festival Le temps presse attribué notamment par Wim Wenders et Jane Campion. Soutenue par Take Five, HumHum production, Altitude100 et Offshore, Noha travaille actuellement sur plusieurs projets.
Donnant une importance particulière aux initiatives solidaires, elle co-fonde en 2015 le collectif “Clap m’en une !”, une structure collective d’acteurs, animée par le désir de réinventer la rencontre entre les différents agents (réalisateurs, acteurs, scénaristes…) du milieu cinématographique. Leurs premiers invités étaient entre autre Yves Hanchar, Fabrizio Rongione, Vania Leturcq ou encore Samuel Tilman.
En 2019, Noha intègre aussi le conseil d’administration de l’Association des Réalisateurs et Réalisatrices Francophones, en tant que conseillère. Elle le quittera en 2021 pour dispenser au Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles, le cours de jeu face caméra des troisièmes baccalauréat.
Noha Choukrallah is a Belgian director and actress. In 2011, after studying acting at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, she studied creative research and experimental media at the University of Quebec in Montreal. In 2015, her graduation film “Night Light” travelled to festivals and her thesis “Night Light: La théâtralité adaptée à l’écran” was published by the French academic press.
Since then, she has performed in theatres (Théâtre des Galeries, Riches Claires, Compagnie du Simorgh…) and in several short films.
Her latest short film “Amine”, produced by Ambiances Asbl… and Wendigo Films, won several awards, including the relay prize at the Le temps presse festival, awarded by Wim Wenders and Jane Campion. Supported by Take Five, HumHum production, Altitude100 and Offshore, Noha is currently working on several projects.
Giving particular importance to solidarity initiatives, she co-founded in 2015 the collective “Clap m’en une!”, a collective structure of actors, driven by the desire to reinvent the meeting between different agents (directors, actors, scriptwriters…) of the film industry. Their first guests were Yves Hanchar, Fabrizio Rongione, Vania Leturcq and Samuel Tilman.
In 2019, Noha will also join the board of directors of the Association des Réalisateurs et Réalisatrices Francophones, as an advisor. She will leave the board in 2021 to teach the acting course at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels for third-year baccalaureates.
