Director Story

Après des études aux Beaux-arts de Cergy, je réalise mon premier film Gaza, souvenirs (2008). En m’inspirant du premier paragraphe de La Peste d’Albert Camus, je raconte des histoires de travail, d’amour et de mort dans la bande de Gaza. Ainsi, je commence à élaborer mon écriture. Ce qui m’intéresse c’est les belles histoires que les gens se raconte pour affronter mort. Très attaché au réel, je suis un cinéaste de la parole, j’aime que mes contemporain me content leur vie, pour m’en emparer et créer du récit. Je réalise ensuite un film pour la télévision Des étoiles et des hommes (2009) qui dresse le portrait d’un service d’astrophysique avant le lancement d’un satellite révolutionnaire.

Parallèlement je suis photographe et iconographe de presse. Je réalise énormément de films institutionnels dans le domaine social pendant une longue période. Je considère cette étape, à la manière d’un musicien, comme une façon de faire des gammes, je développe ainsi une méthode d’enregistrement de la parole que j’espère personnelle. Puis en 2012, j’élabore un web documentaire sur les sans abris avec la fondation Abbé Pierre en partenariat avec le CNC. J’entre ensuite au Master pro métiers du film documentaire de l’université d’Aix en Provence pour finaliser ma formation dans le documentaire et préciser mon écriture. En 2013, j’abandonne complètement la photographie pour me consacrer à la réalisation de mes projets. En 2016, je travaille avec Wajdi Mouawad au Théâtre de la Colline autour d’un projet sur la parole des adolescents. En 2017, je travaille sur une adaptation de l’Odyssée avec des migrants, et je signe deux films pour France 2 autour de la question des réfugiés Syriens au Liban.

After studying at the Beaux-arts de Cergy, I realized my first film Gaza, Souvenirs (2008). Inspired by the first paragraph of the Albert Camus’s novel The Plague, I tell stories of work, love and death in the Gaza Strip. Thus, I begin to elaborate my writing. What interests me is the beautiful stories that people tell themselves to face death. Very attached to reality, I am a cinematographer of the word, I like that my contemporaries content me their life, to take it and create narrative. I then directed a film for the television Star and men (2009) that portrays a service of astrophysics before the launch of a revolutionary satellite.

At the same time, I am a photographer and press iconographer. I realize a lot of institutional films in the social field for a long time. I consider this stage, in the manner of a musician, as a way of making scales, so I develop a method of recording the speech that I hope is personal. Then in 2012, I develop a web documentary on the homeless with the Fondation Abbé Pierre in partnership with the CNC. I then entered the Master Pro professions of documentary film of the University of Aix en Provence to finalize my training in documentary and specify my writing. In 2013, I completely abandon photography to devote myself to the realization of my projects. In 2016, I work with Wajdi Mouawad at the Théâtre de la Colline around a project on the speech of adolescents. In 2017, I work on an adaptation of the Odyssey with migrants, and I sign two films for France 2 around the issue of Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
