Director Story

Jonathan Lago Lago est un réalisateur et monteur belge né à Bruxelles en 1991. Après des études en piano au Conservatoire Royal Supérieur de Liège et à Moscou, il poursuit son parcours artistique en intégrant, en 2015, l’École de la Cité, à Paris, une école de cinéma fondée par Luc Besson. Son court-métrage Mazeppa, qui traite de musique et du parcours d’un jeune pianiste, est primé et sélectionné en festivals (Filmets Badalona Film Festival, Bergamo Film Meeting, Bellingham Film Festival, Linea d’Ombra Film Festival, etc). Le Blocage, réalisé en 2019, est pour sa part diffusé au Brussels Short Films Festival, au Festival de l’Alpe d’Huez ou encore à Interfilm Berlin, entre autres. Naturellement sensible à la musique et au rythme, quand il n’est pas à la réalisation ou à l’écriture, Jonathan travaille également comme monteur, tant en fiction qu’en publicité.

Jonathan Lago Lago is a Belgian film director and editor born in Brussels in 1991. After studying piano at the Conservatoire Royal Supérieur de Liège and in Moscow, he pursued his artistic career by joining the École de la Cité in Paris in 2015, a film school founded by Luc Besson. His short film Mazeppa, which deals with music and the path of a young pianist, won awards and was selected in festivals (Filmets Badalona Film Festival, Bergamo Film Meeting, Bellingham Film Festival, Linea d’Ombra Film Festival, etc). Le Blocage, made in 2019, was screened at the Brussels Short Films Festival, the Festival de l’Alpe d’Huez and Interfilm Berlin, among others. Naturally sensitive to music and rhythm, when he’s not directing or writing, Jonathan also works as an editor, both in fiction and commercials.
